Witches Are Web Savvy
Street gangs have a new turf, the digital pavement.
An AP story on CNN reports that street gangs have become web savvy and are using blogs, personal pages, and sites like MySpace to showcase their illegal exploits, make threats, and honor their jailed kin.
George W. Knox, director of the National Gang Crime Research Center, trains police officials in how to cull intelligence on gang membership, rivalries, territory and lingo from the web. In order to understand any subculture, be it al Qaeda, witches, devil worshippers or gangs, you have to be able to know their own language.
Come again? Now we're being grouped now with al Qaeda and street gangs? What's next? Actually nothing. I don't think there's anything worse than being in the same sentence with an international terrorist organization. I guess I'll look on the bright side. We can only go up from here.

That was my reaction to the story as well.
LOL - I used the same line to illustrate that there is something wrong with this guy and that he has a particular agenda.
"...you have to be able to know their own language." This guy needs to master English, first.
It's hard for me to believe that witches are getting lumped in with al Qaeda, even in the insanity of the Bush administration...I've been to a Pagan festival or two, and the only people I encountered who inspired terror in me were the ones who wore so much tie-dye that just watching them made me feel like I was on an acid trip.
The odd thing is that "sub-culture" is more or less a neutral term, but damn, the itemization!
Ha ha ha......I came to this circuitously, via AkashaMoons and SpicyCauldron, but this was just so good I had to put it up on my blog (with credits of course....) Oh are we pagans scary people, huh!
